UGG Sheepskin Care Kit

Ugg Australia black sheepskin-lined boots are extremely comfortable and stylish.  Other reasons they are commonly worn is to help keep feet warm and dry in wet weather, especially during the winter time.  Mostly, they are worn by surfers on beaches of the west coast of the United States, Australia, and New Zealand.  They have become a must-have tradition for surfers just out of the water.  Hence, Ugg boots have become popular wherever there are surfers, but require maintenance to keep them clean and waterproof.  This is where their sheepskin care kit comes in.

What comes with the Ugg sheepskin care kit?

This kit is available wherever Ugg Australia boots are sold, and is used to help keep the boots looking like new, smelling fresh, and keeping them waterproof.  It sells for around $20 and contains the following:

  • Sheepskin Cleaner (4 oz bottle) used to remove salt and stains from boots.
  • Sheepskin Protector (4 oz bottle) which prevents the boots from damage due to rain, snow, dirt, and other elements.
  • Sheepskin Freshener (4 oz bottle) used to prevent foot odors and keep the boots smelling like new.
  • Sheepskin Brush used to erase stains on the outer suede surface of the boot.

This kit is a handy must for anyone who wears Ugg boots. Since the fluids are highly concentrated, it is critical that you read the instructions thoroughly before using the kit.

Almost All Recommend the Kit

Many who have purchased this kit swore by it, but others found its quality rather questionable.  Some love the kit and find it helps keep Uggs smelling fresh as well as looking new and is very effective waterproofing the boots.   Others say that the fluids spray out inconsistently and some weren’t so sure if they used too much spray as a result of grey, rather than black boots.  One user commented: “Dilute the cleaner a lot!”  On the bottle it says to create a mixture of ½ fluid to ½ water, but she was successful cleaning her boots with a mixture of 1/6 fluid and 5/6 water.  So when using this kit for the first time, don’t get antsy - and read several reviews to avoid making mistakes others have made.

I like to see some negative reviews.  I know nothing works perfectly (but many manufactures give you the impression there product is perfect), and negative reviews help to set realistic expectations.  Overall, 98 out of 111 reviewers gave this kit a 5-star rating.  After weighing out all of the reviews, it’s apparent that the Ugg Sheepskin Care Kit serves its purpose quite well.  Achieving successful results takes a bit of practice and the patience to follow its instructions.  And for the other 13, they’ll have to try their luck again some other time.
