Minimalist footwear that simulates barefoot running is one of the hottest trends in footwear today. Merrell Barefoot Shoes are the latest shoes to connect you to the environment. They are unique, stylish, comfortable, and have many features you won't find in other barefoot shoes.
If Vibram FiveFingers are foot gloves, then Merrell Barefoot Shoes are foot mittens. You will notice the large toe box the moment you put them on. Combine this with the flexible Vibram sole, and you have a barefoot feel while protecting your feet.
There also seems to be more padding in the forefoot, which gives them the feeling of a slight negative heel. This encourages you to land on your forefoot when you run. It will also give your calf muscles more of a workout.
Designed to Strengthen your feet and leg muscles. Realigns your natural gait to improve posture. And Stimulates your feet as they connect to the terrain.
Merrell Barefoot Shoes also come with their own iPhone traning app. The app is designed to help you get the most out of the shoes by providing a training regimen. A nice touch, and very cool.
Of all the barefoot footwear out there today, the Merrell Barefoot Shoe is probably the most attractive. They come in five styles, which include:
Trail Glove - The most versatile of all the styles. Its' mesh, quick drying upper makes it a great shoe on land and water.
Touch Glove - Leather upper, ideal as a casual or trek shoe.
True Glove - A cross between the Touch and the Trail.
Power Glove - A unique looking barefoot boot.
Pure Glove - An attractive MaryJane style.
Merrell Barefoot Shoes run approximately a half size large. Keep in mind the shoes are designed to be worn without socks (or with light running socks). There is also extra room in the toe box, which adws to the roomy feel.
Wearing any shoe without socks will cause them to smell. Machine washing is not recommended, but they can safely be hand-washed. I'd use a mild soap, and let them hang dry on the line.
I always prefer to purchase shoes from a retailer instead of direct from the manufacturer. Retailers typically offer better customer service; have a better return policy; and many times have a better price. You can find Merrell Barefoot Shoes at retailers that specialize in running or trekking shoes. Our ==> Top Specialty Shoe Retailer <== currently has all the Merrell Barefoot shyles in stock. They have a lifetime return policy, free shipping, and low price guarantee. It is the #1 place we recommend if you plan on purchasing Merrell Barefoot Shoes online.

I tied VFF and just had a difficult time getting them on. Merrell Barefoot are easy to put on, and I really like the large toe box. More cushioning than VFF, but you can still feel the ground. The colors and styles are very cool, which is a big plus for me. Great review.
