Regret. It’s such a powerful word that resonates will all of us. We regret something we have or haven’t done or said. I have quite a few regrets, but lately I’ve acquired a new one: I regret wasting years without having owned these sandals. When I first saw the MBT Kisumu 2 sandal, I wasn’t quite sure what to think. Like all MBTs, they are a little funny looking with their inverted crescent moon sole. When I first tried these on, they felt like old friends. But then after walking around in them for a few days, that pang of regret hit. They are simply amazing. Cool, ultra-comfortable, well made, and healthy (yes, healthy).
The Kisumu 2 is an updated version (read: better all the way round in little tiny ways you may not notice but will be glad of) which features a sleeker silhouette. But of the ingenuity that has made MBT some of the best shoes in the world are still there. They have a leather upper with tonal stitch detail for a little style. Three adjustable hook-and-loop straps make them adjustable in all directions. A softly stretchy lining conforms to your feet while the perforated EVA insole provides added cushioning with antibacterial treatment to reduce odor (I know, not something you want to talk about in polite company). The rubber outsole offers lightweight support with good traction on a variety of surfaces so you can go wherever you want. The 1" platform has a 1 3/4" heel for a little lift.
If you don’t know about MBT shoes, here’s a short synopsis. MBT stands for "Masai Barefoot Technology." MBT shoes have a curved sole which engages your muscles.
The sole construction ensures a natural rolling movement of the foot for even weight distribution. A balancing section underneath the metatarsus requires an active rolling movement with every step. This activates a large number of stabilizing muscles throughout the whole body when walking or standing. The Masai Sensor creates a pleasant feeling of walking on a sandy beach or soft moss. They basically cause instability to which your body automatically reacts increasing muscle activity.
The colors are limited but practical: Chocolate, White, and Black. They are true to size in whole and half sizes 6-11.
The reviews are the clincher:

“I highly recommend these sandals”
“After owning and spending all summer in my MBTs I hardly want to wear anything else on my feet”

If you walk, you need these shoes. They are tough as nails and as comfortable as a feather bed.
