I'm a shoe person.  I have a very large collection of dress, casual, and athletic shoes.  I like quality shoes, but had never spent more than $100 for a pair of shoes.  A couple of years ago a close friend of mine turned me on to Merrell Hiking Shoes (chameleon II's to be exact - if you can find a pair they are worth buying).  He told me they were the most comfortable shoes he owned, and even wore them to work.

I reluctantly bought a pair (even though, at the time, I thought the price was outrageous).

My friend was right.  They where the most comfortable pair of shoes I had ever owned.  I ended up buying 2 more pair, and wore them everywhere...even to the theater.

I started thinking, "are there dress and causal shoes out there that ar this comfortable?"  The answer is YES!  I threw out all of my old shoes, and replaced them with comfort/waling shoes.

A while back I connected with some of my editors with another website I co-own and started the Walking Shoe Review website.

We are a small (but growing) band of walking shoe mavens.  Always on the look out for our newest "favorite" shoes (with comfort and style in mind).  We work directly with the top online shoe retailers (and a few manufacturers) to be the first to find out about:

• The newest shoe styles and trends
• The hottest selling shoes
• And, most importantly, the best deals

We share what we find with you.

We try try on every pair of shoes we review (and if our budget allows buy them).  If we love a shoe we'll tell you.  If we don't like a shoe we'll tell you.  We talk to shoe sales people, managers, manufactures, customers, and scour the Internet so we can provide you with a fair and balanced review.

To offset the cost of running this site, and subsidize our insatiable shoe buying habits, we do have affiliate advertising on our site.  We make a small (I wish it was larger) commission on some (but not all) of the shoes we recommend (even some of the shoes we don't recommend if you decide to buy then against our advice).  On rare occasions a kind manufacturer will send us a pair of shoes to review.  When that is the case we will tell you.  We tell the manufacturers free shoes will not buy you a good review (which they are okay with).
